about

This Track is based off of a variety of specific moments that were colored by a sense of loneliness and frustration nagging at the back of my mind.
scene one: It was about to storm outside and it was sunset and i climbed on top of a statue of Martin Luther King Jr. pointing outward in city park. i sat on top of it alone and ate the most delicious chilies in dark chocolate bar ever.
scene two- i was in an industrial warehouse neighborhood at the outskirts of Denver one night and i stumbled across some train tracks that went over a freeway, all i could hear were the cars whooshing underneath me and the train were sitting stationary and clicking. standing there, i had the best view of the lit up skyline.

lyrics

Yesterday I climbed a statue in the rain in the dark in the cloud. I sat alone and I swung my feet and I watched my shadow on the ground
The day before I sat on rooftop. In the rain in the dark in the cloud I sat alone and I watched how the street swept up dust
And now I'm perched in the limb of tree in rain in the dark in the cloud. I watch the birds with their pointing beaks peck at the feet of the crowd

Sometimes when I look for something in someone else
I realize there is nothing more in anyone but myself

Three days ago I found it in me to punch out a pole by the road
Over and over and over again I swung my hand at the wood.
Everything I hate swam before me.
And I became rage
Anger the pure energy so unforgiving in my head

All I want to do is float through city with you
All I want to do is be on the train tracks in near the warehouse at night
Hold my head near the shadow of my feet as they dangle from the pointing statue in the park
In the clowd
In the dark
In the the rain

Sometimes when I look for something in somebody else
I realize there is nothing more in anyone but myself

Hold my void under your arm, It won’t save you if you fall from the statue in the park
