This song marks the shift from my lighthearted relationship with a beautiful overcast Denver where i'm falling out of love and introduces my mind state as i internalize the misery of someone i met who lives like he's dead already and i start battling various dark forces. The city now has a feeling more like a post apocalyptic dreams-cape suffering the damaging aftermath of a flood. This song captures a feeling rather than a thought
lyrics
There’s a dying man
I can see it in his hands
reaching out for what he thought he would never have
there’s a hiding man
his shadow is all the people that shoved him around,
I can see it in his walk
The way he drags his feet when the sun beats down
Now there’s a tiring man
He carries all that’s ever caused him harm
I can see it in his arms
The way they sway and strain and hang
There’s a dying man
I can see it in his hands
reaching out for what he thought he would never have
